Compiling that list of once in a lifetime experiences can actually be a little daunting once you sit down to write it. After years of day dreaming you finally have the time to turn these thoughts into reality! So, if you have a blank sheet of paper staring tauntingly back up at you try asking yourself the following questions.
- What do you want to see with your own two eyes?
- What have you always wanted to do but have never done?
- Which countries do you want to visit?
- What activities or skills do you want to learn or try out?
- What are the goals you have yet to achieve?
- Who are the people you want to meet in person?
- What you do you believe is the most important thing a person can do?
- If you knew that tomorrow was your last day on earth, what would you want to do today?
- What new experiences do you want to feel?
- When you’re sitting with a grandchild on your lap, what stories about your travels do you want to be telling?
- If a Genie granted you the customary three wishes, what would spring to mind first?
- What places are of spiritual significance to you?
- Who do you want to have met?
- What are the special moments you want to witness?
- What did you always want to do as a kid but were never able to?
- Is there something nice you always wanted to do for someone else?
- What are the things that give your life meaning?
- What new accomplishment would you be proudest of?
- What do you want to have that you don’t have now?
- What amazing thing do you want to do that would wind up being included in your eulogy?
This should get synapses firing and you’ll fill out that list in no time! The next thing to do is try to order the list in terms of priority. My recommendation would be to give little weight to practicality…this is your bucket list!
